Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr Parker went to medical school in Bristol and qualified as a doctor in 1999. He has worked as a Psychiatrist since 2001 and completed his specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training in London.

Since 2010, Dr Parker has held Child and Adolescent Psychiatry consultant roles in London, Essex and Devon and has been the clinical lead in a number of teams looking after NHS patients. He has a lot of experience of working in adolescent in-patient units but now works entirely in community settings, often working with complex and high-risk young people. His particular areas of interest are around attachment difficulties and childhood trauma, alongside extensive experience in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches. He also is trained in the assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism and ADHD.

Dr Parker is currently the Training Programme Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Peninsula Deanery.

Dr Parker is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is on the Specialist Register with the GMC for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
